In restaurants in the Netherlands, 55 million kilograms of food is wasted every year. Mainly bread, fruit and vegetables are thrown away, while these products are usually still good to eat.
Upprinting Food focuses on the processing of these products to create delicious, beautiful food. By working together with restaurants, chefs are enabled to create printable purees of their own residual food flows and can differentiate the restaurant by printing unique designs. A new culinary experience, a reduction of food waste.
The founders of Upprinting Food, Elzelinde van Doleweerd (22) and Vita Broeken (21), will talk about food waste and the great opportunities we have to change our current food system using technology.
